Announcements
We need a volunteer who is willing and able to assist the treasurer. If you are interested, please speak to Fr. John Whiteford or Vassily Rodionov.
Prostrations during Holy Week: After the Presanctified Liturgy on Holy Wednesday, we do not make any more prostrations, except when venerating the Epitaphios (Plashchanitsa (Плащаница)). And beginning on Holy Saturday, we do not make any more prostrations at all, until the Kneeling Vespers of Pentecost. When you venerate the Epitaphios, you do not kiss the icon of Christ on the face, you kiss the Gospel book, and the kiss the feet of Christ.
After the Paschal Liturgy, we will have a meal, but families are asked to bring their Paschal Baskets and to share from it, so that preparation and clean up will be kept to a minimum. We will have some extra baskets for those who for whatever reason do not bring a basket. We will have a regular potluck meal after the Agape Vespers.
The Reader Class will be meeting on Saturday, May 8th, at 3:30 p.m. in the parish house.
Gospel Reading at the Agape Vespers: We read the Vespers Gospel (John 20:19-25) in many languages, and so there will be a lecturn in the middle of the Church, and if you would like to read the Gospel in a different language, you can get into the line. Bring the text you want to read with you, unless you have spoken with Fr. John Whiteford in advance, so he can print it out for you.
The next Bible Study on the book of Daniel will be on Tuesday, May 4th, at 7:00 p.m. at the parish hall. We will be discussing Daniel 4. For those who want to participate remotely, they can login at this link at that time: https://meet.google.com/yuy-ohmi-bpm
