Announcements

We would like to set up a rotation of the girls in our parish, ages 7 and older, to take over the duties at the zipivka table. Just as the altar servers are now divided into teams, the girls who are interested will be assigned a team and would be expected to serve on their assigned Sundays. They will be taught what needs to be done. Parents, talk this over with your daughters, ages 7 and up, and if they are interested, please let Dee Dee know. When she gets a list of interested girls, she will schedule a meeting and go over the details.

Merilee and Garrett Eidson are in need of temporary emergency housing. They are currently living in a hotel and can stay until the end of October. They are seeking a room rental beginning in November that would last no longer than three to four months while they continue to seek advanced medical care, permanent housing and employment. They are able to contribute financially and would like to find a mutually beneficial arrangement. They are husband and wife, nonsmokers, with no children or pets. They have no preference for where in the Greater Houston Area they stay and will happily live anywhere our parishioners live. While Merilee is experiencing physical limitations, the housing does not need to be wheelchair accessible or ADA compliant. She can manage stairs to get to a second story, but would need an elevator for a third story or higher. If you or anyone you know are interested, please contact Garrett Eidson at: garrett.eidson@outlook.com (432)553-0900.

We ask that people not park along the driveway opposite the parish house. Children play in this area, and it makes it harder to see when one is about to step into the driveway.

If you would like to be part of a Youth Committee, to help plan youth events, please let Fr. John Whiteford know.

We need some new volunteers to form cleaning teams for the Church. Each team covers 2 weeks. If we get 2 or 3 new teams, each team would only have to cover this once a quarter.

We will begin a new Bible study series on the Book of Acts, in the parish hall on Tuesday, November 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. We will have Small Compline at 6:15 p.m., followed by refreshments and then start the Bible Study at 7:00 p.m. However, for those who cannot come in person, they can participate via Google Meets by logging in at 7:00 p.m. at this link: https://meet.google.com/qrc-meda-ixv

The next online Catechumen Meeting will be November 10th, at 7:00 p.m. and will be held via Google Meets: https://meet.google.com/oft-zahp-udn

The next Parish Council Meeting will be on Thursday, November 18th, at 7:00 p.m.

The next Slavonic Liturgy will be Saturday, November 13th, at 9:00 a.m.

You will find texts for reader services that you can do at home through the 20th Sunday after Pentecost (November 7th), here:
